After the good news yesterday (the Olympics) now very sad news:

This thursdaymorning London (09.00 am) has been a target of terrorists.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4659093.stm

A few people have not survived the attacks.
I hope there wll be no other attacks and that those who did this will be caught . I wish the best for the London people.

Yeah that is very sad news. Crying or Very sad

Why do have innocent people have to die for this? Angry

Statement: All terrorists are lazy cowards. If they had courage and were good at their job they would have blown up the G8 leaders. Razz What's your opinion on that?

Marcus are you OK?
Hope no people close to you or Martina got hurt.

Seems like the Netherlands are also on the hitlist Confused

Thanks guys. I'm still here but at least 37 people aren't and another 700 were wounded. Some will be scarred for life. Lucky for me I'm working away from home or I might have been at Liverpool Street station.

I've been expecting something like this for the last 4 years. The only surprise for me is that it took them so long.

What I find even more depressing than the loss of life and carnage today is that these terrorists are motivated by pure stupidity. There is no rational explanation for this "war". This is not about conquest, riches or territory, and so there can never be any negotiation. It is simply a bunch of deluded self-appointed "Holy Warriors" out to destroy whatever threatens their retarded way of thinking. See my post under "Religions".

I hope Holland is not next. But it seems if you are a civilised country you are a target.

Hey Marcus!

Glad you are well! Cool

Unfortunately there was already a stupid terrorist attack this year in Holland. A dutch filmmaker called Theo van Gogh was killed, because he had made a movie that was critical towards islam. Confused

Seems like these idiots don't understand the freedom of speech. Wassat

Yes I remember that. It's very sad that these people cannot defend their ideas with ideas.

There's an article about Van Gough here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theo_van_Gogh_(film_director) which also includes the text of the letter pinned to his body http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/312. These terrorists are not living on the same planet as us. They are completely insane.

The bus bomb at Aldgate went off 200m from my office. We just all hunkered down in our offices for three hours then my pa and I decided the best way to beat terrorists was toi defy them, so we went out to a local (and deserted) wine bar. By 3.00pm however it was full of others coming out ans showing that Londoners will not be cowed by evil people.

My thoughts to all the families affected...

Mad I hope those animals that committed this atrocity are swiftly found & brought to justice. My heart goes out to the scarred victims & the families of those who died needlessly.
Marcus, glad you are still around & stand with you & your countrymen in solidarity against these insane extremists.

I'm glad you are still here Legatus. And what a great and typically British response. Go down to the local and get pissed Cool.

The Nazis tried it 60 years ago. It didn't work then and it won't work now.

We'll hunt them down and bring them to justice

Thanks Heffay. The last count here is >50 dead, >700 injured with about 80 still in hospital. Of those 11 are still critical. There are still an unknown number of bodies buried in the Underground tunnel which collapsed.

If you are not sick of seeing pictures already then have a look at the amateur photos taken by the public, mostly on mobile phones http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/londonbombblasts/

We'll get these bastards Angry

A sad day it was. It appears that Holland is likely to be next. There is a hitlist circling in the intelligence agency, Madrid/Spain first, London/UK second, Amsterdam/Holland third.

Too bad politicians and intelligence agency can't but there objectives/differences aside, and bundle their strength to defeat our common enemy. I think this terrorism will go on for years to come, raising it's ugly head now and than. We'll never get ride of it, not in this world.

Take care.

Well, Holland WAS in Iraq. And Holland still IS in Afganistan. We have a "doovus" (phonetic spelling or something...lol) of a Prime Minister, and he walks after Mr. Bush & Blair without thinking.

Our prime minister looks like Harry Potter! Shocked Crying or Very sad

Yeah special forces coming from the town I live in are in Afganistan. Some people I know are there. I hope nothing happens to them. They actually train green barrets here. Still don't find it a good plan to send in our people.

OK I didn't know Holland was ever in Afghanistan.

Invading Iraq probably wasnt a smart move in hindsight. No WMD and probably not harbouring terrorists either. Afghanistan WAS harbouring Al Quaeda. And they are still there (somewhere). I'm glad to see the Dutch have some backbone.
